Yup Thats right! Our Competitions Create Pilots. This Ticket is different, if you have a PPL already, you will win 45 hours of Hour Building in a fixed-wing light aircraft. If you don’t have a PPL, this winning ticket provides you with all 45 of the minimum hours of flight training required to obtain your Private Pilot License for fixed wing, exams included.

If you are wanting to learn to fly a Helicopter, we have partnered with Heli Flight UK who will carry out the training for us. This winning ticket will get you 20 hours of PPL(h) training, all exams included.

Details on Fixed Wing PPL

A CAA/FAA PPL holder can fly a UK registered light aircraft (<5700kg) in Visual Flight Rules (VFR) by day. In addition, they have the following privileges:

• Carry passengers without payment.
• Additional ratings to fly at night and in Instrument conditions can be added.

Winning ticket includes CAA/FAA Approved training or 45 hours of flight time in a fixed wing light aircraft (if you already possess a PPL)

• 45 hours training or 45 hours of Hour Building.
• 25 hours of dual flight instruction.
• 10 hours of supervised solo flight time, including at least 5 hours of solo cross-country flight time.
• At least 1 cross country flight of at least 270 km (150 NM) that includes full stop landings at 2 aerodromes different from the departure aerodrome.
• Class 2 medical.
• 9 Theory Exams (Can be taken at the flight school)
• Practical radio test.
• Must be a minimum age of 16 to fly solo, and 17 for licence issue.
• Skills test with a Flight Examiner.

For Helicopter Training

As a private licence holder (H), you will be able to hire out a helicopter to take friends and family flying. During your course you will have learned the correct techniques for making safe approaches to and departures from private landing sites, and can therefore journey to private gardens, restaurants, hotels, and even sporting events.

A minimum of 45 hours’ flight time is needed to complete the full course and For those with a PPL fixed wing, you can carry over 10 hours of flight time and reduce your training to 35 required hours. All exams are the same and won’t need to be retaken.

The total flight time for PPL (H) will include 10 hours’ solo time, including 5 hours’ cross-country with a 100 nm cross-country land away at two airfields.

At least 35 of the 45 hours’ flight instruction must be completed in the same type of helicopter as is used for the Skills Test. Students must be 17 years of age to qualify for their PPL(H)

This competition will provide you with 20 of the hours required 35/45 for your PPL (H) and all exam fees will be covered, which will eliminate a huge chunk of expenses along your journey on becoming a Helicopter pilot. The helicopter training is only available in the UK at present.
